Project Management

Whether it is for due diligence new construction or a building retrofit, our firm has the capability to act as your advocate during the entire process of designing, specifying, bidding and installing electronic and physical security components and systems. Our associates will guide you through the maze of products and systems to insure that you receive the most effective system for your property. These systems will meet or exceed your performance specifications as well as fit your project’s budget.

Our Project Management and Bid process
is summarized as follows:

Phase 1: Security Assessment

This phase consists of an audit of the project based on your needs. This evaluation will generate a needs analysis based on the scope and timeline of the project, the internal and external factors that affect the project, and your objectives for the property.

Phase II: Security System Design and Specification

The result of this phase is the generation of a set of specifications to be used in the bidding process. This will include specifications for the project-wide security system, including permanent and temporary security systems and measures. The plan will specify:

  • Locations of equipment (electronic and physical)
  • Individual product and system specifications
  • Cabling specifications
  • CPTED (Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design) Recommendation
  • Recommended timeline for implementation

Phase III: Security System BID

This phase includes the identification and qualification of prospective bidders, producing bid documents, conducting pre-bid meetings, and receiving all qualified bids. Upon completion of the bid process, Chesley Brown Associates will meet with your property management team to make recommendations based on our expertise and the bids received. This phase will result in the selection of the most qualified security system vendors available.

Selection is based on the following factors:

  • Local Service and Support
  • Technical Support and Capabilities
  • Experience in projects of comparable scope
  • Applicability of systems proposed
  • Scalability of systems proposed
  • Reliability of systems proposed

Phase IV: Disaster Planning / Contingency Planning

This phase includes writing and documenting a comprehensive Disaster Management and Contingency Plan, a Crisis Management Plan and a Business Continuity Plan. These documents are essential to managing natural and man-made disruptions of your property's business.

Phase V: Security System Installation

This phase includes the oversight and project management of the installation of the electronic and physical security systems and components covered in your project's bid documents. This includes the construction of the Central Command Center. Chesley Brown Associates will represent you at appropriate project meetings and planning sessions. Chesley Brown Associates will be the primary liaison between your property management team and contractors/vendors. This phase concludes with the final installation of the project-wide electronic and physical security system as outlined in the your project's bid documents.
