Enjoying the Journey!

Chesley Brown International continues to blaze new industry innovations, as we get closer to unveiling the details of Chesley Brown International InCommand.  We keep a steady watch on where we have been and where we are going.

It’s been more than 15 years now since we began as Chesley Brown Associates providing only consulting and auditing services.  In those days, a small ad hoc staff and I were conducting projects all over the country.

Vehicle and Traffic Safety at Your Property

When planning for the safety and security of a property, there are many things a security department may review.  We all think to look at local crime statistics, the property’s lighting levels, natural and manmade barriers surrounding the property, or even the types of businesses at your property and what type of crowd they will attract.  One item some security departments will overlook is traffic safety.

What do you think of when asked about traffic safety? Do you think about traffic enforcement?  Do you think about monitoring motorists to ensure that they are practicing safe driving skills?

Chesley Brown International Employee Spotlight…

Margaret (Maggie) Hogg,

Human Resource Manager

Maggie began her career with Chesley Brown a little over two years ago.  She is responsible for all HR functions including employee relations, administration of employee benefits, payroll, workers’ compensation and a variety of other functions.  She is a graduate of Georgia State University and has a BS in Psychology and has worked in the HR arena for seven years.  She is currently enrolled at Kennesaw State University and is working on her MBA.

Maggie believes the most important aspect of security is having qualified, trained and customer service-focused security officers who are managed by quality leaders.  As she interviews and assists in hiring the officers and leaders at Chesley Brown International, she focuses on the individual, the qualifications they bring to our organization and how they will work within our team.

In her free time, she plays tennis in several leagues in Atlanta and volunteers at a variety of non-profits.

Security….

Assessing the Program’s Overall Effectiveness

When assessing the overall effectiveness of a security program at a client site, many factors must be taken into consideration.  Security is continually changing because of the influence of many variables, as well as, routine activities.  The professional security manager must perform a periodic assessment to ensure the program is providing the level of security needed to protect the people and assets at the property.  Although security for each property can differ significantly, some basic security factors can be highlighted to assist in developing a security plan.
